Meeting the blues point

from Tom Mendy Trio by Tom Mendy

/

about

As I played a lot in diffrent jazz and blues band there's always been this difference between jazz and blues.

As I imagine that there is no jazz without blues the blues can be jazzy and the jazz can be bluesy.

This song is about that.
I always pictured it to be in an invasive green wich turn to blue passing by all the shades of purple.

composed around 2014

lyrics

Just one of those things you might be thinking.
What makes it blues what makes it got
this thing for which you are feeling hot.

Playing that blues is not that easy
Half way you are already feeling dizzy
Do you understand what is the point?

Now a day in Hell it ain’t that hot.
And now you know what you cannot
Get rid of this blues who’s like a shot
That’s what we’re calling the blues point
You have just been meeting the blues point.
